We worked with Darren on a Ti frame with some special requests. Specifically a serious road bike for an experienced rider and using the SRAM XPLR drivetrain. This combination is not so common and requires the frame builder to listen to the customer. It would be easy to trend too much towards gravel considering the frame material and the drivetrain. Darren delivered exactly what we wanted … actually he exceeded what we had in mind. The bike is absolutely lovely to ride. What’s most surprising is how lovely it is to behold. The shaping of the headtube is the best I’ve ever seen. The shaping of the chainstays are a great balance of form and function blending nicely into the UDH dropouts. Darren seems to have a very keen eye for fit and geometry as he spotted a few small issues we were not aware of. Payment and delivery were professional. This is our 2nd custom Ti frame and 3rd custom frame and this was the best experience of them all. Last word is that my best friend is already planning to get his own Crisp.
