I went out for a short road ride yesterday. I arrived on the scene just seconds after a man was hit while returning home on his bike. His face-down, contorted position was not a good sign. It makes me wonder why folks choose to ride on busy streets (and without a helmet). Some have few choices where to ride, while others enjoy the company of passing cars on a busy road. If you’re out there, please take a minute to think about where and how you ride. It’s sad to think about those who may have been waiting for him to return home as well as how the lives of the others involved in the accident will be changed forever. Buona pedalata…

Il tragico incidente nella tarda mattinata a Camucia in località Il Vallone. Sul posto la polizia municipale che sta lavorando a ricostruire la dinamica
Camucia, 11 giugno 2011 – Ancora un tragico incidente nella tarda mattinata, stavolta a Camucia, in località il Vallone, sulla Regionale 71, nel tratto verso Terontola. La vittima, la seconda in nemmeno dodici ore, è un anziano ciclista. Secondo le prime frammentarie informazioni, l’uomo, Dino Faralli, 89 anni, stava percorrendo la strada in biclcletta quando è stato investito da un’auto che l’ha ucciso sul colpo. Sul posto la polizia municipale, che sta ancora lavorando alla ricostruzione della dinamica. Problemi anche per il traffico lungo uno dei tratti stradali più caotici della Valdichiana e dell’intera viabilità provinciale.
